Labyrinth Rush
Illustrations by Mac Teg
A passion project that I began with a college assignment. For some reason, I couldn’t simply put the project down and diligently tweaked over all those years. It has seen many iterations through rigorous play tests. I designed the whole game, ranging from logo, cards, box, tiles, and the game itself.

I commissioned Mac Teg to illustrate the Heroes, Monsters, and Loots for the cards.

The idea was conceived on the basis of it being Dungeons & Dragons-lite. Despise not having ever played D&D at the time. After some time of playing various tabletop games and finally having personally participated in D&D campaigns. I was able to take in inspirations to further change the play style of Labyrinth Rush, making it more accessible and being well received by my peers.

First version of Labyrinth Rush was essentially a week worth of work.

From conceptualizing the gameplay to designing and printing everything. The early gameplay experience was rather clunky and relied lot on mental math, which made it less fun for players.

I spent the next few years off and on, optimizing the game, accounting for my peers’ feedback from their playtesting. Which brings us to the current version of Labyrinth Rush above.
